How to play
Horses line up at the gate, each carrying a division problem. Tap the horse whose answer matches the target shown on the leaderboard ("answer is 6") and they take off down the track. Correct picks build a winning streak that triples your race-points; wrong picks just leave that horse at the gate. Quotients stay within tens, with reminders that division undoes multiplication when a child stalls.

Why this age range
Recommended for grades 3–4 because division is typically introduced in grade 3 and extended in grade 4. Children younger than third grade haven't built the multiplication fluency that division depends on; older children have already moved on to long division proper.

Notes for parents
Division is the operation children most often "learn the steps for and never understand." Division Derby leans hard on the equal-sharing model — twelve carrots split among three rabbits is four carrots each — because that intuition is what makes division make sense. If your child can do the long-division algorithm but can't tell you why 12÷3 is 4, they need this game more than worksheets, not less.
